Finished Armor

I really liked how this piece turned out, i finished it this morning. wiring it all together took a long time and was frustrating during some parts. it ended up being really fragile so i think i want to let it hang instead of putting it on and jumping around in it pretending to be a samurai.

i smoke fired my tiles yesterday so all i have to to is put them together into the pattern that i want and then wire them together which is gonna take a long time!

Update on tree #2

I stained one of my trees today, it looks good, i used a bronzer for most of it so i'm interested to see how that turns out. and then i used a little bit of black stain for the bottom. i think they will blend pretty well. hopefully it'll be out of the kiln by friday.

3rd tree!

I'm almost done with my 3rd concentration piece it's another tree except larger and not as tall but i'm trying to create better texture on this one and make the surface look more realistic. i'll take a picture of it tomorrow during class and get it up as soon as i can.

Concentration Piece

Here's one of my trees that i just finished in the greenware stage the other day. i like how it turned out especially how some of the bark is missing at the top and how it looks like it broke off half way up the trunk. also the base turned out really nice. i'm excited to stain it.

Final Concentration

I am doing simple tree forms for my concentration, it was harder to come up with a more specific idea, but i'm going to try and really express the shape of the tree form especially in the base where it almost looks muscular.
