Abstract Tree

Another concentration piece, for this tree i took a more abstract approach and made it all curvy and smooth. It was super hard to put together though cause i had to put the pieces together when they were still wet enough to slip and score well enough but they had to be dry enough to where they could hold themselves up. it was difficult. but i really like how it looks so far.

Finished Tree

This is the finished tree that was broken in the kiln but i just have to glue it and it'll be fine for the picture. you can't even tell really in this one. i think the stain turned out good for this piece. and i'm still playing around with different combinations.

Finished Armor

I really liked how this piece turned out, i finished it this morning. wiring it all together took a long time and was frustrating during some parts. it ended up being really fragile so i think i want to let it hang instead of putting it on and jumping around in it pretending to be a samurai.

i smoke fired my tiles yesterday so all i have to to is put them together into the pattern that i want and then wire them together which is gonna take a long time!

Update on tree #2

I stained one of my trees today, it looks good, i used a bronzer for most of it so i'm interested to see how that turns out. and then i used a little bit of black stain for the bottom. i think they will blend pretty well. hopefully it'll be out of the kiln by friday.

3rd tree!

I'm almost done with my 3rd concentration piece it's another tree except larger and not as tall but i'm trying to create better texture on this one and make the surface look more realistic. i'll take a picture of it tomorrow during class and get it up as soon as i can.
